Worship and Music

Leanne Beutler

Living Grace Lutheran holds Sunday morning services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Although our services are fairly traditional in nature, we do a variety of differing styles of music, from the classics to more contemporary pieces.  We make a strong effect to relate the music to the liturgy for the day.

Also, every 5th Sunday of the month, we have one worship service at 9:30 a.m.  This service is usually a special type of service, i.e. Gospel, Favorite Hymns, and Free Style worship.

Adult Choir

Our choir generally sings on Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service.  During the school year, weekly choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays, from 7 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  During the summer months, we take a holiday from Wednesday night rehearsals.  The choir continues to sing for the 10:30 a.m. service in June and August, rehearsing a half-hour prior to the service.  We sing a variety of music.  The choir traditionally takes the month of July off, while a variety of special music is employed for services.

Living Grace Lutheran's music program has a set of three octave handbells.  At this time, we do not have a regular handbell choir, but we continue to recruit members, adults and children, ages 10 and older to join the bell ringers and learn how to play the handbells.  Several times a year, a group of handbell ringers will play for worship services.  We also have a set of two octave handchimes.

Children - Music

During the 10:30 a.m. worship service, the children have their Sunday School.  The second Sunday of the month, the children, ages 2 through 6, learn songs to sing.  The songs are sung in the worship services.  The children also take an active role in the music and liturgy of the church.  During this time they also have fun learning to dance and play instruments.
