Health Ministry

Parish Nurse: Jan Levengood

The Health Ministry of Living Grace oversees the health of its members in body, mind and spirit.  They conduct health fairs, blood pressure screenings, etc.  The first Sunday of the month, we have Healing and Anointing incorporated into the worship service.  As people return from Holy Communion, they may have a healing and anointing by our Parish Nurse or one of our members of the Health Ministry.  They also send out cards to our shut-ins and birthday cards to our members.

What is the Role of the Parish Nurse?

  • Discusses health problems and makes home, hopsital, and nursing home visits as needed.
  • Seeks to promote an understanding of the relationship between lifestyle attitudes, faith, and well-being.
  • Acts as a liaison to community resources and services.
  • Recruits and coordinates volunteers and support groups within the congregation.

As a member of the parish staff, the nurse has an office located in the church and is available follwoing worship on Sundays and during scheduled office hours.
